We are proud to report that the 'Blindsurfer' label was awarded to our site on March 15th 2002. On April 19th 2001 Blindcare Light and Love, with support of Mieke Vogels, minister of Public Health, Welfare and equal rights, officially launched the accessibility label 'Blindsurfer'. For the blind and seriously weak-sighted it is either not possible or very difficult to read ordinary texts, not to mention the fact that it is very time-consuming. A lot of material is available in readable form, but the transfiguration takes a great amount of time. Internet can help... for as far as the sites are readable by soft- and hardware that can transfer this information to speech or Braille. Every website carrying the 'Blindsurfer' logo is thoroughly checked and is easy to use by any weak-sighted surfer. Considering how we wish our site to be a source of information to everyone, the rough sides of our site were eliminated for these users. The alterations are minimal, but all together it took 77 hours to get everything straightened out.
